I absolutely love French Provincial pieces. I've had my eye out for a while now, but can't ever seem to find anything. Last week my client brought me a whole bedroom set of it!! Lucky me! ;) There were 6 pieces all together. Her daughter is 12 and she wanted something she could use now and would also transition with her. She was also hoping some of the pieceswould work in other parts of her home. We decided on black. I know I've said this a bazillion times (more?), but I can't believe what a difference paint can make! You can see the little nightstand that matches here.
Before
Looking a little tired and dated....
After
I'm so excited!!! I'm clapping in my head!! If I hadn't painted it myself I wouldn't believe it was the same piece! :)
This is probably the lightest I've ever distressed. I love how it's just enough to bring out the lines and details of the piece without drawing attention.

Beautiful piece!
ReplyDeleteOh, it's beautiful. I go back and forth about whether or not I like painted furniture. This is stunning. Love the black and it's just the right amount of distressing. Very, very classy!

ReplyDeleteI know this is from a year ago, but I am just seeing it for the first time. This was my bedroom furniture as a kid in the 70's - and I have it in my home now - waiting for a makeover. Making it black was a fantastic idea! I have the matching desk, small dresser, and lingerie chest, too. Just love what you did with it.
