Pine Hutch

Another makeover that has been a long time coming! This beautiful, but well loved (and a little neglected by me), pine hutch has been patiently sitting in my shop gathering dust (seriously--a LOT of dust!) and holding my supplies.

I feel like my time is running short so I bumped her up on the list to move her along.

A few people tell me they get tired of seeing black, but it still is the best seller.  Go figure! :)  Probably because it is so versatile, always looks good, and can be an anchor in any room.  I figured if you are going to have a huge piece of furniture in your room (and don't want to paint it again yourself) then it better be something you can live with for a long time.  :)

Anyway--I've had quite a few colorful pieces in my shop in the last month, so it's back to the basics for me!

 Before

 After

Pine has such a natural warmth to it (and I love, because it is so soft,  that it retains "memories" so well).  So, I stained it a lighter color to let her character show. :)

I kept all the knobs understated but had to go with something fun for the pullout! :)

This hutch was featured @ The Ironstone Nest!  Thanks to all of you who "like"d it!!

  3. Good call on the color you painted your adorable hutch. Boy would I love to have her in my kitchen to take place of top/bottoms cupboards next to frig. It would be perfecto. Oh I want that but since I don't live close to you (and don't have enuf of a budget to buy it) guess I'll have to admire her from afar. The style of drawers etc. is different than many hutch's I've seen, almost like a hoosier, love it cause it is little different. The black is so great on her with the lighter work surface. Hope whomever gets her really appreciates all the hard work you put into her. Happy Week
