Ok, this was supposed to be yesterday's post. :)
I am head over heals for French Provincial pieces, so when my client brought this dresser (and her sister) in for me I was so happy! She said her and her mom had stripped them. I asked her how that was and she said, "A pain in the butt!" I hear ya sista!
I love the curves-ooh la la! These are actually for her sweet little girl, so we went with traditional white and she picked out some playful knobs that are just right for a little princess.
Before
Call me strange, but there's just something about clean, smooth wood. I just lalalaloooove it! Then, why, you ask do I have to go and paint it?? I have no idea, but I imagine it's like a clean canvas for a painter. :)
After
Sometimes a 2D picture just does not do a 3D object justice. She is very pretty!
Such cute knobs! I love the pop of pink in the middle of the crystal.
I used Espresso by Rustoleum again underneath the white so there would be a nice contrast when I distressed. I actually used a paint scraper on this one because a sanding block just smeared the brown into the white and made a sickly pink mess--blech! Does this happen to anyone else??
I love the chippy look anyway, so it worked out. :)
