{not an antique} Table Set

While I was at my daughter's softball tournament a friend of ours was at a furniture auction.  He kept texting pics and calling to ask if I was interested in anything.  Love friends like that!  Of course, there were some things I just couldn't say no to, and this set of tables was one of them.  They're brand new, but a little dinged up in spots which is why they were being auctioned.

The wood tone was such a pretty color that I decided to paint them black and do a really heavy rub through to show all of those pretty tones (and so they didn't look too formal).

I'm hoping to finish the other two tomorrow, so here's a peek at the smallest one. :)

Sorry, this was pretty short and to the point, but I'm off to another softball game! :)

  4. Beautiful! I love black finishes distressed like this! I always seem to rub the finish off - maybe I don't know my own strength LOL! Can't wait to see the others! Hugs, Leena
