I am such a sucker! I saw this little cutie and just could not say no. It has such a great little shape and legs, and it's solid wood.
The problem-no storage!
But, then I was thinking...it's not her fault she's got no storage!! She still deserves to be loved! ;)
And, if she's cute enough, in the end, someone will be able to look past putting things in it and be happy with putting things on top of it!
Ok, enough justifying why I bought the darn little thing. I don't have to explain myself! ;)
Before
She was so sad looking (and she's been holed up in a barn!). Practically begging for a makeover.
After
Oh my goodness- how adorable is she now??!
I added these amazing knobs to the front panels to give a little visual interest.
I love the look of the paper on the inside of this vanity Stephanie (Attic Angel) did. I also love this paper I found at Hobby Lobby with a black and white Harlequin pattern and how it compliments the knobs. I just stained over to give it more of an aged look (it was too bright before).
It's such a good way to add a little something to a piece without a lot of detail.
I sanded (A. L.O.T.) this top down and stained it in Early American by Minwax. I've had tops made out of this wood before and staining it too dark leaves it muddy looking. I liked the lighter color and think it compliments the black well.
It's so unique!
Would be perfect as an entry way table, a laptop desk, or a vanity for a smaller space.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
p.s. I love what I do!! ;)
