Another Little Black Desk

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  I spent mine enjoying a beautiful message about our Savior by one of my most favorite people, listening to my daughter sing (such a sweet little voice), eating way too much candy!, and just enjoying my wonderful family (I really do have the best husband and kids!).
I am very blessed and give thanks to a loving Father and His Son for all of my many blessings!!

Just a quick before and after this morning.
This desk was rough! Check out the carvings on the front--the top looked about the same.  Luckily the finish was pretty worn so most of it sanded out pretty easily with 120.

My client got this for a steal and, once again, I'm amazed what a little paint, new hardware, and elbow grease can do!

 Before

(ok, I must say--it was so ugly!  This picture doesn't really show its hideousness!)

 After

I love how a classic cup pull can just pull a piece together.  You really can't go wrong with them!

These crystal knobs are so fun and I love the little detail on the bottom of the middle drawer.

I had to sand the whole thing down to the bare wood, so you can really see the wood grain through the paint.

She's a pretty little thing now.

Have a great week and come back and see me--I'm so excited to post my next project (if I ever get to it!)!

  1. I think you did a great job! I have to say that sanding all that must have taken a while by hand... and I love the knobs, they're so dainty!
